As we continue to grow, we are especially excited to expand into equine therapy, integrating the therapeutic benefits of working with horses into our services. This will allow us to offer a unique blend of evidence-based ABA and experiential, nature-based learning.
Future equine therapy
Our clinic will feature a working garden, a cozy kitchen space, and outdoor activities like picnic-style lunches. These experiences are designed to feel familiar and comforting, while also building independence and real-world skills.
Future clinic-based therapy
At its core, our Weatherford clinic will be a place where children feel safe, families feel supported, and learning happens naturally—through connection, experience, and a setting that truly feels like home.
About the clinic
As a BCBA-owned and operated practice, we believe therapy should be thoughtful, ethical, and built around real relationships, not just checklists or hours.
We are intentional about recommending services based on what a child and family truly need, not simply the maximum number of hours possible. We believe progress comes from quality, consistency, and collaboration, and we work closely with families to create plans that are realistic, supportive, and sustainable.
Jaala Dickens is the Co-Founder and CEO of Reins & Roots Behavioral Therapy, a practice serving families in Weatherford, Texas and surrounding communities, grounded in ethical, natural, and collaborative care for children and families. Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Courtney Williams is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, the Co-founder and CCO of Reins & Roots Behavioral Therapy. She began her journey in the field of ABA in 2018, where she quickly discovered a passion for working with children and supporting meaningful, lasting change in their lives. After starting as a Registered Behavior Technician, she knew early on that this was the path she wanted to pursue long-term.
Courtney has been a BCBA for the past four years and has built her career around providing ethical, individualized, and client-centered care. She believes that therapy should never be one-size-fits-all and is deeply committed to creating treatment plans that are thoughtful, functional, and tailored to each child and family she serves.
Throughout her career, Courtney has worked across a variety of settings, including clinics, in-home services, schools, community-based environments, and group homes. These experiences have shaped her ability to meet children where they are and understand how to support meaningful progress across different environments.
She has also held leadership roles overseeing clinical teams and supporting the development of other providers, which has further strengthened her focus on clinical quality, collaboration, and sustainable care.
Courtney is especially passionate about play-based, naturalistic teaching and creating environments where children feel comfortable, engaged, and supported. Her long-term vision for Reins & Roots includes incorporating equine-assisted therapy to support connection, confidence, and growth in a more natural and meaningful way.
Outside of her work, Courtney enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and their animals. She grew up in Colorado and has always had a strong love for the outdoors and working with horses, which continues to be a meaningful part of her life today.
Chief Clinical Officer & Co-Founder
We also believe that great outcomes start with supported clinicians. By prioritizing manageable caseloads, ongoing mentorship, and a collaborative environment, we can ensure our team shows up as their best selves for every client.
Beyond that, we’re passionate about expanding what ABA can look like- integrating natural environments, community-based learning, and eventually incorporating equine-assisted services to provide even more opportunities for growth.
At its core, Reins & Roots was built on the belief that care should feel different—more thoughtful, more personal, and more aligned with the families we serve.
We’re opening our own ABA clinic because we’ve seen firsthand what works, and what doesn’t, in this field.
Our partnership began in an ABA clinic, where we had the opportunity to work alongside one another and experience the field from multiple perspectives. Through that shared experience, we saw both the impact that quality care can have—and the gaps that too often exist: rushed programming, high caseloads, limited support for clinicians, and families who don’t always feel heard or fully supported.
We knew there had to be a better way…
Our goal is to create a space where therapy is individualized, meaningful, and truly centered around each child’s needs. A place where progress isn’t just measured by data points, but by real-life skills, independence, and quality of life.
